How can they go unless they are sent?

Aisha had surgery earlier this week to separate her arm from her chest!  She has a long way to go, a lot of surgery to endure, even more pain, but when it's all done she will be able to have a more normal life.  This is happening because of Christ's love in those who sacrificed to enable her to have surgery.

Our prayer is that through this act of love, she will come to know and love her Savior!

We all cringe to see pictures of children in circumstances like this....or know of things like this.  We all want the villages we work with to be this.

Children need surgeries, they need schools and supplies and the people need to be self sufficient.  In order to be self sufficient, they need goats and cows, they need seeds to plant and water to make the seeds grow.  Mercy Uganda works hard to make these things happen, but all these things take money.

Romans 10:14-15
But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed?  And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?  And how are they to hear without someone preaching?  And how are they to preach unless they are sent?  As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!

Besides the things above, they need mosquito nets, mattresses to sleep on, desks in schools, food and clothing.  These things not only make a difference in their lives, some of them are lifesaving.

The most important thing they need and the main thing Mercy Uganda wants to do is to share the love of Jesus and to tell the people there the good news.

Here at Mercy Uganda, we want to be good stewards of all the resources God has provided.  And we want to do the best we can to raise funds needed. preparation for the upcoming September trip and to finish raising the funds for the much needed well, we had a yard sale!   Lots of hard work by lots of people made this happen.  Many people donated items to be sold and some did the back breaking work of helping people load the things they bought into their cars.

Here is the check out table where people paid for their goodies.  When they paid, they were also given a pamphlet about Mercy Uganda and what we are doing in Uganda.

Laura had ripped a hole in her pants worked so hard that she needed an apron!
Laura truly does put all her heart into this ministry.  God called and Laura answered yes Lord!  Laura's  husband, Mark works with her and the entire Mercy Uganda team.

People came by all during the day.  Some people came back two or three times to pick up some item they saw earlier.

At the end of the day, there were some tired workers!  These children were having a ball going through the clothes.....they found lots of stuff for their mama to buy.

In the upcoming months, Mercy Uganda will be having a banquet.  Please check out out website to learn how you can be a part of Mercy Uganda and a part of spreading the gospel of Christ throughout the world.
